1. Buy a brown soft furniture wax such as Briwax or Minwax. Briwax leaves the shiniest surface. |
| |
2. Use a soft (terry) cotton cloth to rub the wax onto the surface, including legs and apron etc. (Leave wax to be absorbed into the surface for 2-3 minutes.) |

3. Use a stiff-bristled (acid) natural brush (not nylon) to buff the surface ( follow grain pattern ). This unique technique ads sheen, and prevents wax build up in grain and distressing marks. This can be followed up, by further wiping the surface with clean cotton cloth. |

Small scratches can be touched up using a Minwax stainmarker (Dark walnut color). A Sharpie Pen can also be used, rub with finger to blend the black color into the wood. Hairline cracks in the end-grain must be expected and is considered normal. Use a desk pad if writing, as the waxed surface is SOFT!
We hope you'll enjoy your new 'Old World' solid wood furniture for decades! |
